House #4

The Nursery would be my fourth favorite room, mainly because it is the only room in the house that is actually finished. But also I am just glad to be able to use my crib again, this is the first time that Vera has slept in a crib and I am just so glad to have a comfy cozy little spot for my baby. Vera is obsessed with this little rocking lamb, she could sit on it all day long. I change her diaper next to it and she just talks to it until I'm done :)

I love this girl more every day. Also, she got invited to attend nursery on her first birthday, how great is that? Now we can teach class without fighting with a squirmy baby, and she gets to be in nursery with Mae, love it.

Vera is One!

Vera turned one on Sunday and I can't believe she is that old.

She got her first tooth on August 1st and now has five.
She said her first word while we were in Newport: "Uh-Oh"
She is now crawling on her hands and knees (no more army crawling) and is cruising along the furniture

Vera is my little treasure.

Sisters!

I am so glad that these two have each other. I can't think of anything better than growing up with sisters! I have been spending a little time planning out the "girls" room in the house and it makes me excited to watch them grow closer as Vera gets older.

8 months

This baby is growing up way too fast. I love her so much. I'm glad she doesn't crawl or feed herself or have teeth and she is still in size two diapers, so she still feels young to me. She finished nursing this past week and loves her oatmeal. She is such a happy baby, and super vocal, always singing, talking or yelling (especially at 5am). This week she swallowed a leaf and three small rubber bands, I guess it's time to baby proof the house. Her hair is slowly starting to come in and it's so light, almost white. I love that I have a little blonde baby! Im so glad she is in our family.

Downtown

We headed to the National Mall a couple of weeks ago, when Joel was in town, with Emily and Tyler. We saw the Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial. We had a picnic and then went to the American History Museum. It was a fun time! The kids had fun running around and we got several looks and comments about how kids shouldn't be at Memorials, whatever.

I knew that statistically Vera had a bigger head, but this picture makes her look super top heavy! And you know how I like to compare pictures, so here is Mae at the same age, same place, which makes them look very different to me. (And makes my photography skills look bad too.)

More finger and thumb

6 months

The last six months are probably the fastest I have had in a long time. Vera is growing so quickly and she is such a sweetie. She is a super happy baby, always so smiley. She loves rolling around on the floor and playing with the crinkly wipes bags. She always has her finger and thumb together, as you can see in her pictures, its her signature look. Her next moves are to learn to sit, eat solids better, improve her fine motor skills, add some syllables to her vocabulary, and grow some hair. I love this baby.

Cute face

I could eat these cheeks! Vera started solids last week, my attempt at giving her more food so she will sleep better :) She is such a doll, I really love this age.

Im afraid to say that a lot of my photos lately are just iphone photos, But that is better than nothing right?

Vera will be four months next week! She just had a major growth spurt and just seems so big! she just about touches all four edges of her bassinet when she is sleeping. I love her.

Hands

I love it when my babies find their hands.
Vera has found hers this week and its so fun to watch her. She also loves to suck her two fingers, its so cute.

Here is Wes and Mae at the same stage. Same car seat, same toy.

Forgot One

I wanted to post this picture from Vera's blessing, There is a little distortion from the lens but I thought this one was super cute. Love them both.

Blessed

Does Vera not look like a little baby angel? She is so precious and I am a proud Mama. John gave her a beautiful blessing on Christmas day, and I'm excited to see the role that she will play in our family. She is already getting so big, she will be three months this week! What?
