Our week and orange paint

Wes got caught up on some immunizations on Wednesday and has been having fevers for several days. He spent most of his time in my lap or on my shoulder for most of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We started wondering if he was ever going to be back to his normal loud, destructive self until he started throwing ketchup covered french fries at Cari on Saturday and running away in the hotel. His fevers are gone now but he still has been a little more mellow than normal. He has had a slight rash today which hopefully will be gone when he wakes up tomorrow.

We got to visit Rose, Josh and Grace on Wednesday. Friday we had Leah (who just got back from her mission) Sarah, Josh, Rose and Grace over for a little while to play, it was super fun. Saturday we met up with Cari and Alec in Salt Lake for lunch and then came back to Provo to hang out with Nathan and Chelsea for a BYU football game bbq. Such a fun week.

Today I finally got an art project going for Wes. We picked some smokebush leaves and made pumpkin cards and played with paint. Wes had a pretty good time and surprisingly didn't make too much of a mess. He usually just eats crayons so the paint worked out quite a bit better.

Nursery

I would like our baby's room to look like this:

Some things I found

These are all either from the farmer's market or DI (and all under $4 except the dress): rain boots, little italian shoes with bells (well, they both had bells when I bought them, then Wes ripped them off of one shoe when we got home), freshwater pearl bracelet, red girl shoes, pillowcase dress and vintage patterns which I am excited to make.

I love Wes' cute chubby legs in these pictures!

Millcreek Canyon

All the Petersens came to hang out Saturday and we went up to the Salt Lake farmer's market, which I always enjoy. I picked up a darling little baby bracelet and a vintage pillowcase dress for baby. I also got a small bag of granny smith apples which are pretty much like candy, I should have bought a box instead, I only have one left.

We had a bbq up Millcreek Canyon afterwards with delicious hamburgers and a rootbeer keg. Wes really liked throwing rocks and pinecones into the fire and sitting in the camping chairs. John and Emily tied the board game and we had pizza for dinner. We smelled like campfire for the rest of the day and went to bed early, it was a great way to spend our Saturday.

House

Here are the outside pictures of our house, with finished landscape and all, although you can't really tell much by these photos. So if you know anyone who is looking for a house in provo spread the word.

Party in the Park

After dinner at Mimi's we headed over to Rock Canyon Park and had some delicious carrot cake. Wes gave John a soccer ball, which he picked out, and all the boys played soccer for a while. Wes got stung by a bee on his hand but wanted to keep playing so he was running after the ball half crying and half laughing. It was a fun night.

Happy Birthday John!

This post is dedicated to John.
Happy Birthday to the best husband and dad in the world!

I found this picture of John when I was looking through some old files, he did it as part of a campaign when he was working for BYU, it's hilarious.

Semi House Tour

Well we put our house up for sale this week so here are some pictures we took. Some didn't turn out so I will have to post more later. So for those of you who have never seen our house, here it is.

Mommy & a Hair Cut

He did it! Wes finally called me Mommy. he has been calling me Daddy for the last six months since he started talking. John was putting him to bed and he wanted mom to tuck him in and he called out Mommy! It was so cute!

John also gave him a hair cut a few days ago, it looks so much cleaner. We thought we would try and grow it out to see some curls but it just looked messy, maybe in a year or two we will try again when his hair is thicker.

Yesterday Wes insisted on feeding himself his yogurt, it was such a mess but so cute, he kept making funny faces when I would take a picture of him. Then I stuck him straight into the bathtub.

Free

I signed Wes up to get this free lemonade stand assuming that they wouldn't pick him or send it but it came in the mail today. It's pretty cool, but cardboard, so I don't know how long it will last, plus it kind of looks like its sponsored by Sunkist or something, but it will be fun to have.

John at Wes' age

Four Years

Yesterday was our anniversary so we headed up to park city for a night on the town. We stopped by the farmers market and picked up some delicious goat cheese, sweet corn, and granny smith apples. Then we headed up to Main Street and walked through the shops, it was really hard not to buy one of everything in the Chocolate Factory. Then we had dinner at Main Street Pizza and Noodle, where we went almost every weekend while we were dating but hadn't been back since we were married. We went and saw The Dark Night after dinner and then headed back to Salt Lake to pick up Wes from Emily and Tyler's. It is amazing how fast you can eat dinner and how many things you can get done in one evening without a toddler.

Thinking back over the past four years I am so glad I married John, so blessed that he married me, and looking forward to being married for eternity and all the exciting things and challenges that come with it.
