Chicago

While my Mom and Beth were here we spent some time shopping and went into Chicago to see the Buckingham Fountains. Oh man, it was so hot and humid, but we had tons of fun together!

Wes and Mae started wrestling for fun this summer. Really Wes would lay on the ground while Mae sat on him and rolled on him until he couldn't hold still any more and then he would try to wrestle her, and she usually ended up crying. It was hilarious to watch.

Back it up

I finally have a chance to hijack John's computer and finish my posts from this summer

My Mom and Beth came to visit us and play in Chicago, it was one of my favorite parts of the summer. We also happened to straighten Mae's hair while they were here, she looks like a different person!

Mae is such a character, it has been so fun to watch her personality develop. Sometimes I wonder if I will be able to control her, she has gotten pretty crazy lately. I always hear her whispering to Wes:

Lets sneak into Mommy's stuff
Lets dump water on the floor
Lets make a mess

That little rascal is trouble and I'm afraid we are coming upon the terrible two's pretty quickly

The Mountains

We have been spending a little time in the canyon lately. It is so beautiful, and smells so good. The kids could throw rocks in the river for hours. Apparently I'm the only one who likes s'mores, I had to finish everyone's after they had only one bite. And why do hotdogs taste so good when you roast them over a fire? Yum.

Things

A few things:

The kids are up to their usual selves, dumping my makeup all over the carpet, pouring water all over the kitchen floor, pulling all the bedding off their beds, dipping their toothbrushes in the toilet, playing with knives

John is out of town, so I'm trying not to get bored.

I have been doing a lot of research, one of my favorite past-times, and finding tons of good info for a future project.

Wes got a haircut, but I don't have access to the pictures yet.

I actually baked today, made banana muffins, which remind me of my Mom (with chocolate chips on top)

I pulled my dusty scriptures out of their box and it feels good to have them next to my bed (and to have read them)

Most days I feel like I'm just trying to survive. First we had our water turned off for several days, then our gas for several days. Then I flooded our bedroom from a leaky washing machine hose and we had to rip the carpet out, ugh. I just want a normal uneventful week.

We have been getting two or three packages a day for the last week from some incentives that John earned, its kind of like Christmas, and Wes especially likes opening the boxes.

We have unloaded a few things from our storage unit and it feels so good to use real silverware again, we have had plastic for the last year or so. It's also nice because whenever I feel like going shopping I can just go to the storage unit and shop, I keep finding things that I forgot I had, we have some pretty cool stuff.

John has been art directing a lot of photo shoots lately for projects and we came to see him during one. The photographer took a few shots of Mae while we were there, she was being shy but she sure looks cute.


also, can you see her birthmark on her neck? John thinks we should get it removed. Good idea or no?

Update

This girl is big and beautiful! She is measuring two weeks farther along, has a healthy brain, heart and body, and has some beautiful lips. The ultrasound technician for all of my kids have commented on their lips, here is a cute shot of them. We were able to see her face from a few angles and from what we could see she looks a lot like Mabel. My doctor scheduled me to be induced on Oct 16, a week early, if I don't already go into labor on my own before that. Mae was two weeks early and I'm crossing my fingers that will happen again!



We are back in Utah, and after a stressful week we found a place to rent and are starting to get unpacked. (I am really starting to hate moving, but am getting good at it, please let the next place we move be a home for us for a long time)
